Welcome to the Humane Society of Del Norte County web site. We hope you will take a few minutes to look through our site, discover some of the wonderfull animals we have for adoption and learn more about the efforts of the individuals dedicated to the humane care of animals in Del Norte county. The currrent facility is located on over 7 acres of land. the current county use permit limit the number of animals to 100 felines and 2 large animals. The Humane Society of Del Norte was established in 1984 to provide care and housing for unwanted and abandoned domestic pets.

The Humane Society of Del Norte works to controll the problem of Del Norte countys homless pets through our spay and neuter pogram and public education. It all works because of Volunteers! The Humane Society of Del Norte ia an all volunteer organization with members who devote whatever time they have at their disposal. From the daily care of animals to helping with fund raisers each volunteer adds a vital ingredient to the mix.

THIS IS OUR NEW LOCATION AT 821 ELK VALLEY ROAD IN CRESCENT CITY CA.

You need to know, at this time the shelter is not open. the only way we can help is for you to call and leave a message. we will call back most times within 24 hours. there is not a vet on property so we can not give medical advice. you need to call your local vet. there are caretakers on property and will stop people from dumping animals. when the shelter is open we will post hours that we can help. if you want a cat or dog you must still call , leave a message , we will get back to you as soon as possible.

At this time we are in need of donations of all kinds, cleaning supplies,bedding, toys, and everything else for the daily care of our animals. most of all we need volunteers- an hour or a couple of days each week. if you can help send us an e-mail or call 707-464-1686 e-mail Pawnbroker@myway.com.
